SweetMeet Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17.10.2026

This policy covers the SweetMeet website and app. Privacy is a big part of what makes safe dating apps worth using, so we explain what we collect, why we use it, who sees it and what control you have. SweetMeet is intended for adults 18 and over.

Who we are and how to reach us

[Company Name], located at [Company Address], is the controller responsible for personal data processed through SweetMeet. In this policy, "SweetMeet," "we," "us" and "our" refer to that company and to the SweetMeet website and app.

If you have a question about this policy, or want to make a privacy request, write to us at [email protected]. We aim to reply clearly and without legal jargon wherever we can.

SweetMeet is for adults 18 and over

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use SweetMeet. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we close it and delete the related data, subject to the retention rules below. If you believe someone under 18 is using SweetMeet, please report the profile in the app or contact us at [email protected].

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: what you give us, what our systems record while you use SweetMeet, and what you allow us to receive from a social login. You are responsible for making sure the information you provide is true, accurate and up to date.

Information you provide

  • Account details: your login credentials (such as a username and password), name, gender and age or date of birth.
  • Profile content: optional details you choose to add, such as physical characteristics, education, lifestyle, interests, personality traits, what you are hoping to find, and your photos.
  • Preferences: the settings that shape which profiles you see and who can contact you.
  • Messages and support chats: the content of conversations with other users and with our support team, including anything you send us when you report a problem.
  • Verification, surveys and research: information you provide if you take part in a verification step, a survey or a user research session.

Some profile details can be sensitive, such as sexual orientation or relationship goals. Sharing them is always your choice. We use them only to run the features you ask for, such as showing you relevant people, and we do not require them to use SweetMeet. By choosing to add them, you give us your consent to process them for that purpose.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and browser data: device model, operating system, app version, browser type, language and device identifiers.
  • Network data: your IP address and the approximate region it indicates.
  • Usage and log data: the features you use, pages and screens you view, Likes and Matches activity, and technical events such as crashes and errors.

Information from social login

If you sign in with a third-party account, we receive the basic profile information you authorize that provider to share, which typically includes your name, email address and profile picture. We do not receive your password for that account. You can review and change what a provider shares in that provider's own settings.

Why we use your information and our legal bases

We use personal data to keep SweetMeet working, to keep members safe and to improve the experience, and only where we have a valid legal basis. Those bases are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests, your consent, and legal obligations.

Performing our contract with you

We use your information to create and run your account, show you people based on your preferences, send and receive Likes, create Matches, deliver messages and provide support.

Legitimate interests

We rely on our legitimate interests to protect the service and its members. These include preventing fraud and abuse, moderating reported content, keeping our systems secure, understanding how the service is used, and improving it. We balance these interests against your rights, and you can object where the law gives you that right.

Consent

We ask for your consent before we use data for optional purposes, such as marketing messages, non-essential cookies, or optional features that need extra permissions on your device. You can say no without losing access to the core service.

Legal obligations

We may process data when the law requires it, for example to respond to valid requests from authorities or to keep records we must keep.

Photos and face data

Photos you upload are shown on your profile according to your settings. You can add them from your camera or your camera roll. SweetMeet may process the images you choose in order to provide the service, but we do not use them to identify you.

We do not use facial recognition, we do not create biometric templates, and we do not extract face geometry. Even if you grant photo permissions, the app does not access your photo albums beyond the images you select. We ask for your explicit consent before collecting images, store them on our servers or on your device with protective measures, and do not share them with third parties without your consent. We do not sell, lease or trade biometric identifiers or profit from them. Photos are deleted once their purpose ends or you withdraw consent, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.

How long we keep your data

We keep personal data while your account is active and only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as the law permits. After you delete your account or we close it, a 30-day safety window applies before data is removed.

Some information may be kept longer. Examples include data we must retain for legal obligations such as responding to law enforcement requests or resolving disputes, and data needed for legitimate interests such as security and fraud prevention. We may also keep an email address to prevent duplicate accounts from being created by someone we have removed. When we no longer need data, we delete it or anonymize it.

When we share information

We share personal data only in the situations below, and we do not sell your personal data for money.

  • Service providers: companies that help us run SweetMeet, such as hosting, analytics, payments, support tools and moderation. They act under contract and may use your data only to provide services to us.
  • Other members: the profile content you choose to show, such as your photos, age range, area and interests, is visible to other members according to your settings. Messages are shared with the person you are chatting with.
  • Legal requests: we may disclose information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and property of members and of SweetMeet.
  • Business transfers: if SweetMeet is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, personal data may be transferred. We will give notice before it becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

International data transfers

SweetMeet and its service providers may process your data in countries other than the one where you live, and those countries may have different data protection rules. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as standard contractual clauses, and we ask providers to protect your data to a comparable standard.

Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights over your personal data:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your data.
  • Restrict how we process your data.
  • Object to processing that is not based on your consent.
  • Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Complain to a data protection regulator in your jurisdiction.

To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity first so that we do not give your data to the wrong person. These rights are not absolute. For example, we may not be able to erase data we are legally required to keep, or data needed to establish or defend a legal claim, and we will explain our reasons if that is the case.

You also have everyday controls inside the app. You can edit your profile and photos, choose who can contact you, and block or report anyone whose behavior bothers you. For the rules that apply to members, see our Terms & Conditions.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never happen.

You can help keep your account safe:

  • Choose a strong password you do not use anywhere else.
  • Do not share financial details or other sensitive information in chat.
  • Report suspicious profiles and messages so our team can review them.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember settings and understand how SweetMeet is used. Details on each category and how to manage them are in our Cookie Policy.

Changes to this policy

When we update this policy, we post the new version on this page with a new date. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, so you have time to review it.
